Kellogg's memories and Doctor Amari's advice indicate that the Sole Survivor should locate an escaped Institute scientist, Virgil. His last known position was deep in the most irradiated region of the Commonwealth, the Glowing Sea.
Travel to the Edge of the Glowing Sea and head southwest, following the remains of the freeway until the Pip-Boy indicates a hike off-road is in order. Expect to face deathclaws, radscorpions, feral ghouls and other irradiated wildlife. Upon reaching the map marker, the Sole Survivor will find themselves close to the Crater of Atom, a site holy to the Church of the Children of Atom.
Upon entering the location, the Children's leader, Mother Isolde, will inform the Sole Survivor that they are trespassing. Though violence is always an option (search the area for a scrap of paper indicating a nearby cave), it is possible to lower one's weapon and speak to Mother Isolde instead. Answer her questions politely, and she will give directions to a rocky cave nearby.
Locate the rocky cave roughly southwest of the Crater of Atom, being wary of the roaming deathclaw in the area. Virgil will be found inside this cave. He requests that the Sole Survivor help him locate a serum within the Institute, in return for his knowledge.
After receiving the quest, travel to the C.I.T. ruins north of Diamond City. The "courser signal" will be available on the Pip-Boy's radio at that point. Tune to it and follow the signal east to Greenetech Genetics.
Greenetech Genetics is filled with Gunners who are fighting Z2-47, the courser. Upon entering the building, the commander of the Gunners starts issuing orders over the intercom. He orders the majority of his troops to retreat up the building and the rest to engage the Sole Survivor. The player will have to fight their way up through the building. The courser is just ahead the whole time and easily eliminates his opposition, littering his path with Gunner bodies.
The next-gen update includes native applications for the consoles, Performance mode and Quality mode settings, as well as stability improvements and fixes. This means the game will be playable up to 60 frames per second and with an increased resolution.
Elsewhere, Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One also gets a free update with stability improvements, and login and quest fixes. And finally, a free Fallout 4 update for PC adds widescreen and ultra-widescreen support, as well as fixes to Creation Kit and a variety of quest updates.
Players with PC versions of Fallout 4 on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG will receive stability, mod, and bug fixes. Fallout 4 will also be sold on the Epic Games Store, and will be Steam Deck verified.
