Hey guys! Our 12 Days of NerdOut competition is back again for Year 2! You the fans submit your lyrics to be made into real NerdOut songs! Here are the details to enter:
Choose a video game/movie and write a song about it just like NerdOut. Your song can be a parody of a popular song or an original, just make sure you write all the lyrics yourself and don't steal someone else's work. We will select 10 submissions, and sing/rap them like a real NerdOut song! The videos will all be released (along with 2 special songs by us) in the last two weeks before Christmas.
If you write an original song, submit your lyrics AND a simple recording of you singing the song so we know how it goes (doesn’t have to be an HD recording, can be a voice memo or a video on your phone). We won't use your voice in the actual song, it is only so we can hear the melody.
To enter, email your lyrics (and/or videos of you singing your song if you make an original melody) to submissions@nerdoutmusic.com
The deadline to submit is December 1st, but we will start choosing and recording songs before that so get your submission in early for a higher chance to be chosen! (In your email also include what game/movie it is about, and the original song title if it's a parody)
At the end of the year, the winners will be decided by a points system made up of the following 6 categories:
Fan Voting
the8thHawk’s picks
NemRaps’s picks
Ben Schuller’s picks
YouTube video likes
Spotify streams
-with 1st place in each category getting 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, etc.:
The winner will receive $1000, 2nd place $300, 3rd place $200, and a NerdOut merch package to all 10 that get chosen. Good luck! Looking forward to reading all of your submissions :D
