Final Fantasy VI | Part 14: A Way to Move Forward
Product provided in this video by Square-Enix. This is part of my purpose to playthrough all six of these.
Our journey presses on. We seek out the last of our remaining allies.
First we face off with Deathgaze. If I were you, make sure your party is in a level that is not affected by Level 5 Death. Why? Because your team will be wiped. Have your strongest party for the job and use powerful moves like Firaga and Bum Rush. If it runs away, don't worry. He will not heal. Once you take him down, you get your hands on the Bahamut magicite teaching Flare.
Next we head for the Phoenix Cave. This is one of two dungeons where you need to form more than one group. In this case, it's two groups. You need to venture about, find all the treasure and kick butt. There's also a Red Dragon, one of the eight dragons. Use Ice attacks to take it out. Eventually we find Locke. Turns out he was finding the Phoenix magicite. He hopes that he can use it to bring Rachel back. When he does though, it turns out that Rachel can't stay for long. Despite his pleas, Rachel tells Locke to move on with his life. She then says that she is proud of him and that she will always love him. That's enough to motivate Locke to join the fight. Now he has a reason to fight and that's more than enough.
We take him to Narshe and he's able to unlock many of the places that were locked down. This also includes us getting the Ragnarok materia. This is the most important item to get. Why? Ultima aka the game's win button. I kid you not. If every character has Ultima, you got your win button automatically. We also take the time to head inside a giant sleepworm. It's here we get our hands on the last known ally, an optional one. Gogo. He kind of sucks as a party member so don't use him unless you really want to.
We got everyone. Next part is where we get to explore the World of Ruin. We're going to see what this world has to offer... and see more stories to their end.
