In this Final Fantasy XII analysis I'm taking a look back at Square's last Fantasy Fantasy entry on the playstation 2. Released in 2006, and later repackaged as Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age - this game sees us once again return to the realm of Ivalice which, much like Final Fantasy Tactics, is fraught with human issues, wars, and politics, rather than any single supernatural entity to contend with.
Contentiously received by many long-time fans upon its release, this game discourse explains the innovations of Final Fantasy XII and explores why it divides people to this day. I also breakdown the themes, setting, narrative and characters as these are the components that make all Final Fantasy games uniquely Final Fantasy games!
