Although it seemed like once possibly defeating Sonia would liberate the Black Fang, the last of the Four Fangs is actually still after the group with the remainder of the Black Fang forces, which is surprisingly quite a lot. It's a long battle, but it's one Ben knows they're being forced to face as there's no way the Black Fang is letting them through the area to enter the shrine without a fight to the death, the tragedies of war he realized.
