First Impressions #01: Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Black Book
Welcome to First Impressions, the series where I take a look at the beginning of a game I've never played before and base judgment off, what else, my first impressions! In this episode, we'll take a look at a recently released fan translation for Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Black Book! The patch was released publicly on July 22nd, 2021 by Specialagentape.
Devil Children: Black Book was released on November 17th, 2000, alongside its companion game Red Book only in Japan on the Game Boy Color. The game was Atlus' answer to the recent Pokemon craze, and is a much lighter and softer take on the general Megami Tensei formula, intended specifically for younger audiences. The games were also ported over to the PlayStation on March 28th, 2002, again only for Japan.
