This film has been a long time in the making. I wrote the original script in 2021, rewrote it in 2022, and finalized it this year in 2023. It's been a wild ride full of plot changes, casting issues, and a good amount of collapsed walls. But here we are.

To clear up any questions about the plot outside of the synopsis, I want to get this out of the way: this film takes place in an alternate universe and completely alters major events in the base FNaF timeline. Michael Schmidt, despite being a British dude who has a dad, is not Michael Afton, and subsequently, there are a lot of changes from the base lore. If you go in expecting your local lore expert's dramatized FNaF timeline, you will be VERY surprised. I learned the lore to defy it.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Secrets of the Father is estimated to release in late September of 2023.
