On May 5th, 1961, Alan Shepard became the first American in space. Piloting Freedom 7, this suborbital flight lasted only 15 minutes. The flight took place less than a month after Yuri Gagarin became the first human to journey into outer space.

This was my first go at it after doing all the tutorials. I totally ignored testing the attitude control systems, like Shepard did. I was more concerned with getting back down. Also, Shepard did not have a window on his flight.
