Frozen Synapse is a popular simultaneous turn-based strategy game. It's actually a micro-managed tactical game (not strategy), but who the hell searches for that? ;)
It's a refreshing change from the current gaming trend of run-and-gun - players can simulate the precise movements and interactions of both player and enemy units during the planning phase before committing to the outcome phase. Planning phases can sometimes take days as players consider all possible enemy engagements, and multiplayer is a uniquely tense competition not too unlike chess... with guns. And rockets.
Both teams plan their moves and attempt to predict the enemies moves, before committing and watching the outcome unfold.
