I play with Extreme difficulty, custom Ghost Experience Immersive Mode settings, minimal HUD elements, and the Spartan Mod with my own custom settings (see below).

The Spartan Mod is a mod for PC that changes some of the values in the game in order to make it more realistic and challenging. For example, enemies will hear your weapons firing from much further away (both suppressed and unsuppressed), enemies will spot you from much further away (especially during the daylight hours), enemies will engage you from further away, you can't carry as much ammunition for your weapons as you could with the base game, and your stamina and health are much reduced (you die quickly from a few shots). On the upside, the enemy are less bullet spongy and will also die quicker than before and the enemy won't detect you so easily when you are inside their vehicles as their vision is obscured.

The Spartan UI Mod disables things like pickup flashing, grenade and incoming impact shaders and allows partial customisation of HUD icons including key bindings for toggling icons in-game without needing to go into menus.
