Yugioh Zexal easily has the worst ratio of actually impactful anime archetypes. While Number 39: Utopia was cool as hell in the anime, it did little as an actual strategy. Together with it, there’s a long list of failed decks which served only to piss you off when you pulled their cards in your hard-earned booster packs. Decks like Bounzer, Umbral Horror, Butterspy and Malicevorous have long been the laughingstock of yugioh players for their lack of, well, anything. Most of these decks are just lame, boring and uninspired packfiller. One of these decks is Gimmick Puppet. A deck you’re probably familiar with, but not for reasons the deck would like to be known. This DARK Machine strategy was utilized by Quattro in the anime, where he participated in some of Zexal’s most iconic moments. But these top ten epic anime moments don’t really translate to the real card game. Why’s that? Let’s take a look today as we dive into this Failed Archetype.
