I produced this remix 11 years ago entirely in Reason 4.0, but I was never happy with the mix and I always wanted to add guitars to it. So I took my old source files and did a brand new mixing pass on the whole thing and mastered it. I also discovered that I had recorded some guitar tracks some years back so I used those and enhanced them. For the tones I was inspired heavily by Mike Oldfield who uses a highly compressed "Crystal Clear" sound with thick reverb for his clean tone and a slightly direct line-in distorted sound for lead. I think I really nailed the likeness and I believe it fits well in this mix. I was also dying to add an acoustic guitar at the ending (where I initially just used samples) so I did that as well.

The original theme, composed by Tom & Diane Lewandowski of Quest Studios, plays during the Tower Realm sequence from the fanmade remake "King's Quest II+: Romancing the Stones" by Anonymous Game Developers Interactive (AGDI, formerly Tierra Entertainment) towards the end of the game. It was one of the most beautiful game themes I'd ever heard or since.

The game screenshots were upscaled with an AI neural net algorithm tool called ESRGAN using the "Manga109attempt" dataset model.
