"Godzilla vs. Kong" (2021) directed by Adam Wingard is a crowd pleasing cinematic epic. But it continues to have the same issues every other MonsterVerse film has.

A dumb human corporation called Apex Cybernetics is stupid enough to create their own man-made Titan powered by a decapitated head of Ghidora called Mechagodzilla. This threatens the real Godzilla and provokes him into attacking humanity after he was once considered peaceful. A dumb scientist named Nathan Lind (Alexander SkarsgΓ₯rd) is stupid enough to purposefully let Kong off Skull Island so that he can follow him to his birth place realm of Hollow-Earth. This creates another power struggle because Godzilla considers himself king of Earth and the ultimate apex creature, so now he has two major threats to deal with.

Godzilla vs. Kong continues to annoy the fans with these useless time consuming human characters. Their decisions never fail to bewilder me. I particularly despised the trio of Madison (Millie Bobby Brown), the awkward and annoying Bernie (Brian Tyree Henry), and the even more awkward and annoying Josh (Julian Dennison). I've said it before but the reason the humans are such a major problem is because the film will cut from battle scenes to get their pointless green screen reactions, interrupting the epic combat encounters while also saving money for the companies behind making these.

Where Godzilla vs. Kong excels is it's high quality visual fidelity and gorgeous designs. Godzilla & Kong have never looked better in both franchise's histories, and I really loved the neon colored cities that the final battle takes place in. This is the best action in the MonsterVerse by far and I would be more than happy to continue supporting the production of these movies despite their flaws as long as we keep receiving high effort and passion in the areas we need to. The world of this universe is also expanded on far more here than it's predecessors.

I do consider this film superior to "Godzilla" (2014) & "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019), because it's very similar except better looking and better sounding, as well as delivering slightly more lore, combat and epic battles than both of those. I don't think this one is better than "Kong: Skull Island" (2017) however; as that one was particularly good due to it's location, scenario, and the fact it was more focused on the title Titan than the human characters.
