Golden VGM #686 - Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time ~ Star Shrine
- DESCRIPTION:
Out of all the Mario & Luigi games, Partners in Time is definitely the least memorable. I can't remember much of what happens in this game. One thing I do remember is this sweet little character moment where the plumbers come across a star door that looks into their hearts to deem them worthy, and frowns upon Luigi's inner feelings. After a little test to prove Luigi's worth, the star door still doesn't trust him, which gets him to cry, upon which Mario and the babies back him up. It's actually kinda touching.
In fact, I just noticed a pattern of small character moments revolving around Luigi that occurs in all of the games. In Superstar Saga, Mario gets sick and would have turned into a bean, had Luigi not went solo to find a cure. There's this moment in Partners in Time. And in Bowser's Inside Story, there's this one part in Dimble Wood where Mario gets kidnapped by sock things and Luigi has to rescue him by himself.
The only difference to this pattern is in Dream Team, where the whole game revolves around Luigi's character rather than in small moments. Although I would say that the most prominent character moment in that game would be when Mario explores the Dream Depths, and you get to see Luigi's inner feelings.
