Time for a decent comeback with my no death videocam-recorded playthrough of Gradius III for the SFC / SNES. This was played on a real hardware with the Japanese cartridge, with no deaths on loop 1, and on Weapon Edit. The configuration used is:

Hawk Wind - Tailgun - Twin Laser - Rolling Option - Reduce - Mega Crash

The mega crash can come in handy when you are in a pinch even at later difficulty levels. The reduce can let you into smaller gaps and spaces and reduces your hitbox but you can only take up to two hits before getting wrecked.
