Great value pair of lavalier microphones for the money - short
I picked up the Wireless Lavalier Microphone a few weeks ago. I was wanting a simple lavalier microphone for quick recordings where I mainly use my iPhone wanted something better than the phone itself, but didn’t want to break the bank!
This set of microphones are good value for the money and are compatible with iPhone, Android, PC and iPad. It is really a plug and play system, no need to pair up the microphones as they worked straight out of the box. There are a variety of cables and adaptors for charging and linking the wireless receiver to different devices.
The information on the lavalier microphones suggests they would be good for 4-5 hours – I haven’t tested this though; I also didn’t test the outer range but were excellent for using indoors.
In my recording environment I can often have fans from my computer in the background. The mufflers on the microphones completely eliminated this sound without any adjustment. The sound recorded had a very deep base sound compared to my iPhone (check out my video on this to hear the difference). But nothing I couldn’t tone down in something like Audacity or Davinci Resolve.
If you have an iPhone the receiver with the adaptor does stick out quite a bit from the phone. I would be quite tempted to use a lightening extension cable so I could just move it around to the back of the phone and be less vulnerable to knocking.
Overall, if you want something that does the job, gives a deep base to sound and is very affordable, you are going to use them in a situation where you wouldn't want to risk a more expensive set, or you want to experiment a little with a lavalier microphone but not commit to one £100 plus, I think these are ideal.
