Well, it took a year to finally leave Sony exclusivity, but Deathloop, the latest game from Arkane Lyon (developers of the Dishonored series), has finally hit Gamepass and thus I've finally hit it up after a long waiting period. But is Deathloop more than the sum of its many parts? It samples the looter shooter tropes from Borderlands, the stealth or shoot gameplay from Far Cry or , the power suite from Dishonored/Bioshock, and the death and retry system from roguelites/Soulslikes. Despite all these great influences and the clever way they interlock in the game, I'm convinced they've could've done more and done better. It's not all bad, but it's alarming how quickly Arkane seems to be selling out, what with this game and with the upcoming Redfall from Arkane Austin. Check out the video and see what all my fuss is about and whether it's something you can live with or whether you leave this one to spiral out on its own!
