Heartbreaking: abandoned dog lived on a bridge above a busy freeway!
20,631Hope For Paws was contacted by L.A. on Cloud 9, an organization that helps homeless people. The homeless man in the tent (he didn't want to be filmed) fed the dog, asked them for help, and they knew to call us. (They are the same organization that called us about Jordan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zy97RgzxhJg - I'm sure 90% of you remember his horrifying story).
Loreta Frankonyte and I headed out to the bridge over the 110 freeway - one of the busiest and noisiest freeways in Los Angeles. We feared he would bolt, so we surrounded him with our plastic fencing and got him into the Hope For Paws rescue vehicle.

One weird/funny thing that happened during the rescue (it was removed in the editing) is that a man approached us and asked to buy drugs from us. I don't know what about our look gave him the feeling that we're the people to ask. π (Was it the color of Loreta's shirt? Is that even a thing?) π

Anyway, little Shrimp was shell-shocked from his experience. He didn't like being touched, and he wouldn't let us shave parts of his matted coat, so the doctor at CARES had to mildly sedate him.
Our friends at S.A.F.E. Rescue Team offered to foster him. It's important for me to acknowledge the incredible work of his fosters - it took a couple of months for him to transform from a shell-shocked sad dog, to a happy, playful doggie: https://SafeRescueTeam.org
