Understanding that Heat Engagers are generically +17g is super important. That means your opponent can only guard for those first 17 frames, therefore can never be counter hit (CH) by an i17 or quicker. Either use a natural hit (NH) i17 mid or low, otherwise use a CH tool that hits on i18 or later.
