Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Chas McCormick (+680)
On the season Chas McCormick bats .341 against lefties with a .598 slugging percentage as he and the Astros get lefty Jesus Luzardo for tonight’s series finale with the Marlins.
Luzardo allows opposing righties to bat .265 on the season with a .463 slugging percentage compared to just a .196 average and .308 slugging percentage allowed to lefties.
McCormick belted a home run in last night’s one-run win and already has three this month in total after hitting six home runs in July.
There have been multiple instances this season in which McCormick has home runs in back-to-back games with Luzardo giving up 16 of his 18 home runs to righties on the season.
The Marlins starter has also allowed five home runs in just his last two starts totaling 11 earned runs all together.
We get nice odds with McCormick to hit a home run at +680 tonight as he’s hit half of his 16 home runs away from Houston on the season. Other Astros to consider for a home run include Alex Bregman (+560) and Jon Singleton (+560) as well.
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Corey Seager (+310)
We head out to Arlington for our next selection as we go with Corey Seager to hit yet another home run this month as he already has seven in August so far including two in last night’s 7-3 win over the Angels.
Lefty Reid Detmers gets the start for the Angels sporting a 6.70 road ERA and allowing six home runs over his last three starts.
Detmers also allows opposing lefties to bat .313 on the season with a .578 slugging percentage. Seager has smashed lefties on the season batting .339 with a .615 slugging percentage and he’s performed exceptionally well at home too batting .374 with a .747 slugging percentage.
Seager has three hits including a home run in his career against Detmers as the Rangers shortstop also has multiple instances of hitting home runs in back to back games.
Take Seager to hit a home run tonight at +310 with other Rangers to consider are Marcus Semien (+400) and Mitch Garver (+340).
