How Did The Bubonic Plague Influence The Fortnite Item Shop?

For millions of years, humans have been faced the inevitability of death. When faced with the harsh reality of what’s to come, there is nothing we humans can do but cower in fear and hope that we will survive. In the instance of virus and disease, however, we humans find that all we can do is await our death.

The Bubonic Plague, also known as the “Black Death,” was thought to have originated surprisingly 2,000 years prior to its first appearance. The famous symptoms of this gruesome disease didn’t appear until only a shocking seven centuries ago, taking the lives of many.

In the year 1346, the Bubonic Plague had begun. This horrific historical event lasted a terrifyingly long several years before it took its final lives, so this imposes the thought: “How Did The Bubonic Plague Influence The Fortnite Item Shop?”

The “Black Death” gained its name due to its tendency to cause an individual’s skin to blacken. Due to its nature to spread, presumably through acts of trade, the disease expanded quickly, alongside its unsettling name. With the quick spread of disease, doctors who treated infected patients began to use a medical uniform to protect themselves, and so did Fortnite. Without Epic Games’ quick initiative to prevent the spread of disease by remodeling and perfecting the medical uniforms of doctors in the past, the future of disease prevention would end in terror.
