How EA Killed the Sims Franchise: The Sad State of the Sims 4
If there’s one game franchise that nostalgically takes me back to my childhood, it’s The Sims. From playing the Sims 2 on a Dell Dimension 4500, to playing My Sims on our family Wii, no other game series elicits the same feeling of my childhood than the Sims—with the possible exception of Simcity, yet another Maxis game. But the Sims 4, EA’s most recent PC entry into the series, has been an utter disappointment. From a lack of features, to overpriced and excessive DLC, the Sims 4 has been one major decades-long letdown after another. So today we will assess the state of the Sims franchise, and with a rumored Sims 5 release in the distant future, we will also note what the future of this iconic franchise looks like.
