How To Build A Hotel In Sims 2 + Speed Build - SimRick
4Hello fellow Simmers. In this video I am going to demonstrate how to build a hotel (or motel or lodging) in The Sims 2. There is also some speed building action to be had. Enjoy :)
For this you will need The Sims 2 (of course) and the Bon Voyage expansion pack. If you have the ultmimate collection, you are more than good to go. Get to designing and building your hotel (I built a motel :P). The reception area requires either version of the "ConciergoSum Desk by Welcome Home Furniture" and each accommodation needs to utilise the "Solidity Door" (assumed custom alternatives may be available).
It should go without saying that each room/accommodation should have basic living commodities such as a bathroom and a bed, and other optional commodities such as seating (In my case i added a couch and dining table/chairs) and entertainment (such as a TV) etc. Each room will also require a telephone in order to phone for room service. Anything else is up to you.
Once you have the hotel/motel set up the way you want it, you can now convert or rezone the lot into a "lodging". To do this, open the cheat console via CNTL+SHIFT+C and type: 'changelotzoning hotel' without quotes.
This will make the lot into a functioning hotel. Although doing this will cause the lot to restrict some Build Mode features (such as adding or removing walls), but still allowing for editing wall coverings and flooring as well as accessing buy mode.
To remove these restrictions, just rezone the lot to a community lot, and unlock said build mode features. tTpe 'changelotzoning community' into the cheat console instead and you are good to go.
