How to Convert A Video with an Alpha Channel to MOV with Alpha Channel using XMedia Recode
1Most video with transparency (alpha channel) tend to be huge so this is a way of compressing them down to save space and keeping the transparency.
My favorite titling apps like bluff titler and newblue titler pro can output their videos with transparency but they are big... sometimes a gig or more. I see a lot of folks on video editing sites dont know how to compress them and keep the transparency.
i also have an app that removes backgrounds from videos that works well BUT it will only output webm with transparency and some video editors dont like that format... but it can do a fake green screen to... so I let it do that, then load that file in a video editor that can output transparency in a lossless format like prores/lagarith, have it remove the green screen (chromakey) and then save that.... then if that file is too big, then i do the procedure in the video to get it to a smaller file size
