The history of the Mercurial series has been well documented by Nike, with many of them coming back in colorway tributes, and sometimes even partial remakes. With that said, there are a few models that have been more or less forgotten. Or so I thought.
In today's video we take a closer look at the special edition Air Zoom Retro Nike Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite, a tribute to the 2001 Alpha Project Air Zoom Mercurial VT! In my opinion, one of the ugliest Mercurial models ever, but one that has been historically significant again, in that it was the first Mercurial model to feature Air Zoom technology, which 21 years later is now the flagship tech in Nike's latest Mercurial model! I go over all of the unique details of these special football boots and talk about how not all "new" technologies are actually new.
