All aboard. Next stop, Ihatovo. In Ihatovo Monogatari, we are a traveling stranger who visits the idyllic town of Ihatova. You hear of a poet in town named Kenji Miyazawa and you decide to go meet with him. When you go to visit though, you find that he's currently out of town and that 7 of his journals have gone missing. You're now tasked with recovering the 7 journals in hopes of meeting this illusive man. Go around town, talk with the townspeople, gain the ability to speak to animals, and visit a bar ran by a Toad. Normal town stuff.

Kenji Miyazawa is actually a real life novelist and poet from Japan who wrote short stories and poems for kids. Ihatovo is actually from his stories, and each chapter of this game is based on a story of poem of his. This game looks like an RPG with it's overhead view and styling but in actuality this is an adventure game where you gotta talk to people to gain clues and trigger flags, find items, and solve problems with said items.
