In 1968, Alan Fischer directed Ambrosio his adaptation of Matthew Gregory Lewis’s notorious 1796 Gothic novel The Monk. He cast unknown Marissa Marcel as the infamous Matilda.
In 1970, John Durick wrote his thriller Minsky with Marcel in mind. Set in New York City, the movie concerned the death of a famous artist and Marissa starred as the muse suspected of murdering him.
In 1999, Durick teamed up with Marcel again for his swansong, as she returned from a lengthy hiatus. The movie Two of Everything was a subversive thriller which explored the duality between a successful pop star and her body double.
