IndieView - A Bird Story
4Simply put, A Bird story is a beautiful, short trip. Even playing the game briefly, brings you sights, sounds, and a charming story. The key factor that drives this particular title is lack of dialogue. Everything is explained through the pixel characters or its masterfully done score. The music itself in this game is done so that it actually feels like its own character, I could write an entire review about the music, but I won't. Now keep in mind just like Freebird's other game, To the Moon, A Bird Story is a light hearted tale. The game is very light on the actual gameplay elements, other then moving the character around from point A to point B, there isn't much more. This is like a short story or poem in the form of a game, one that should be approached with the same expectations one might get from a Disney/Myazaki film. That doesn't mean that the game isn't going to pull at your heartstrings. A Bird Story is tale of a lonely child whom finds a friend in an unlikely place. How this all ends is up for you to discover. Any fan of To the Moon or story telling in general will enjoy A Bird Story. Bringing up any short comings of the game seems silly as you should know what you are buying when you get this game. Which you should, cause its very well done and was a delight to play.
