Jak 2 was the first Naughty Dog game to stray away from pure platforming (that wasn't a racing game) and I think that it was the first step towards games like Uncharted and The Last of Us. Jak 2 not only had vastly different gameplay than previous Naughty Dog games, it also had a darker, more mature tone and a wider cast of characters and a more complex story. I think Jak 2 is where Naughty Dog began their journey towards making some of the best story-driven games of all time, and all it took was one big leap forward.

Jak 2 happens to be one of my favorite PS2 games and I just wanted to take the time to talk about how Jak 2 was Naughty Dog's first more serious game.
