Well.....it finally happened. When I did this game for YouTube years ago it was a first-try run and at the time my friend convinced me to upload it as is...warts and all. Fine, fair enough but I felt I could do it much better, quicker and more efficiently. Particularly when it came to killing the shark at the end of the game. Its one of the very few playthrough videos that I have wanted to go back and redo since I knew I could do it better. So I sat down and gave this one another try and I managed to knock my completion time in half. Honestly it was much more fun to play and record this time around than the one I did years ago. I left the original playthrough video up as well since someone may actually enjoy that one more for some reason or another. I hope you enjoy!

The 1st of 3 games in the now infamous LJN Horror game trilogy. I first discovered this game back in late Elementary school but didn't play it until Junior-high right around the time that I had got myself a competently working NES console along with several games not too long afterwards (Batman, T2, Zelda 1 & 2, TMNT etc.). Being a massive fan of the movies and books I was super excited and intrigued to learn as much as I could about it and find it and hopefully snag a copy for myself. Its Jaws...how could it suck...right? Well to say I was disappointed at the time was a rather large understatement. I found it to be a very bland and boring game. But that was at the time. In the years following I've come to sort of appreciate and like the game in weird way. In essence I view the game as a rather generic harmless little shooter cashing in on a big name franchise that's quick to finish. It's not actually half bad compared to some of the others out there honestly. Being based off the notorious 4th movie in the franchise Jaws: The Revenge it does manage to incorporate some of the elements of the movie into the game itself like the Mini-sub, the Plane and the sailboat that you sail around the screen on was a big part of the movie's climax as well. Plus the way that you kill Jaws by impaling it the bow of the ship is the original cut ending to the movie (although added back in for the Cable TV version) so that was a rather nice touch too. The 8-bit rendition of the infamous Jaws theme was nicely done too with the rest of the music being not too bad either. The game has responsive control and a decent difficulty (impaling Jaws is a nightmare though) so really its not too bad when I sit back and think about it. I think my expectations were FAR too high, hence the bitter disappointment. Honestly I actually like all 3 games in the LJN horror trilogy....they're my guilty pleasure I guess. Overall its not too bad a game. Not the best certainly but not the worst either. If you run across a cheap copy in decent shape I'd say get it and give it a spin. Just don't expect it to be mind blowing that's all. This was also done on an actual cartridge as well. Thanks for watching!

Hope you enjoy......again!
