Super Mario Kart established the foundation of what Mario Kart would be, but it wasn't a full fancy 3D Mario Kart. With the release of the Nintendo 64, Nintendo was able to release a full 3D Mario Kart. Does Mario Kart 64 hold up today? Is it still worthwhile to play in the modern era? Well I'll find out today because I didn't grow up with it. Yes even though I am a Gen Z kid I never actually played Mario Kart 64 until now. It just wasn't my era. I grew up in the Double Dash and beyond era. Maybe I'll get the chance to redeem myself as I look at the Mario Kart that everyone born before me always says that they love. Mario Kart 64 is a Nintendo 64 game released by Nintendo 1996 in Japan and North America and Europe in 1997. It had full 3D racing and high speed action for everyone to enjoy, not as high speed as F-Zero, but still kinda fast. With 4 cups and a battle mode that that can be played in 4 player multiplayer. Mario Kart 64 definitely had plenty of content at the time.
