Of all of the classic era Sonic games, Knuckles Chaotix is the one that has the least publicity. This game was always elusive for me and I wanted to see what this game was all about. Is it as weird as I've been made to believe though..? Released in 1995 Knuckles Chaotix was meant to be the full sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Knuckles. Developed initially for the Mega Drive, then moved to the Sega Saturn and then finally moved down to Sega's ill-fated 32X peripheral, to say the development cycle for Knuckles Chaotix, originally Sonic Crackers, was definitely hectic. Knuckles Chaotix was meant to be the Sega 32X's killer app but failed to meet expectations and was lambasted in contemporaneous reviews of the day. To this day, Knuckles Chaotix is still the only mainline classic Sonic game not to be remade or re-released anywhere outside of the 32X cartridge, making this game exceptionally inaccessible and rare outside of emulation. There have been few, in any reviews of this game since its release and still, most reviews have been negative...
