Description...
This is an ambitious attempt at not only playing through the RP-0 career mode of Realism Overhaul within the Real Solar System but,
To create what NASA had formed as the basis for it's future unmanned and manned space programs.
It was to have been a collaborative effort and included at certain points the Soviet/Russian program, The ESA and other Agencies around the world, Very similar to what we have in the ISS.

The Space Transportation System was to have been a multi-vehicle project.
The basis was to have been at least three and perhaps four space craft.
A fully reusable space plane, Possibly either single or two stage to orbit.
An orbital tug, Used to assemble and maintain orbital facilities, Either manned, Unmanned or both variants and an adapted version for Lunar operations from orbit and down onto the surface.
The third part was to have been a Nuclear Shuttle, Or other wise and more accurately termed as The Nuclear Ferry. The term 'ferry' would be the best way to describe this craft as it would have been used to 'ferry' both components, People and resources from Earth to the Moon.
Fuelled with either Liquid Hydrogen or Liquid Methane, Methane being easier to store, Cheaper and not needing as much active cooling as the former LH.
The ferry being modular in design could also be expanded to form the basis of an inter-planetary craft for missions beyond the moon, Mars etc.
The fourth would either be a new heavy launcher or a bulked up version of the SV (Saturn V). The heavier launch ability would be achieved using either a standard SV with it's lift capacity augmented by the use of SRB's (Solid Rocket Boosters) or a new design completely and this would most likely have been in the form of the Nexus.
However no concrete plans were ever formed of what this fourth component of the STS would have actually been. Nothing was ever formalised of any of the plans as NASA had it's budget cut and could only afford to develop a reduced capability space plane.
The Space Shuttle retained the STS program name and that was as far as the ambitious 1969 Post-Apollo Space Committee's Space Transportation System ever got.
It was revived in part during President Carters' stay in office in the form of the SSTO 'Star Raker', However that too got no further than a rough design and outline of it's envisaged primary abilities.

This will not be a recreation of Earth's Human Space Programs however, This will be an alternate history and future timeline.
This timeline will be based within the idea that after the end of WWII the Soviet union and the US, UK etc never ignited the cold war and worked in unison as regards to space technology and exploration.
This unity allowed the Human Race to expand and accelerate various space and astronautical projects.
Work could begin on ever more ambitious and larger construction programs.
A number of Orbital stations both Government and private in Earth orbit, Lunar and beyond as well as surface installations.
