Le Mans Ultimate | Early Access Play Test | PC
SOME HUMBLING LESSONS:
1. Unlike a pad, using a wheel for each vehicle is almost literally like speaking to different personalities per vehicle. I mean like, DRAMATICALLY so
2. Hyper Cars hate you. You need 6-8 laps for warming tyres it seems and short sprint races won't help me there. That's also why they're WEC (World Endurance Championship) classified. Duh
3. Braking technique is also drastically different each vehicle. Cars with more downforce allow me to have more control to braking whenever I force into 2nd gear for tight corners, versus cars with less downforce you need to be much more careful even thinking about going to 2nd from 3rd. Bad habits from weaning myself on spoiler clad cars in Gran Turismo. It's something that was frustrating me but mostly due to it being a skill issue not because of the vehicle itself.
4. The AI for this game needs fixing. But I've learned a lot of lessons on respecting each skill set for each racing class too. Makes me want more seat time.
5. While I've gotten used to the wheel to an extent, I need to be much quicker and take more risks the way I did on pad. So there are still elements of conservative fear that I need to get over in order to be quicker. This is going to take much longer than a couple of months, which I realize more each day.
Aside from LeMans Ultimate, I think I'm going to start putting in serious time with Assetto Corsa Competizione 🏁🏎️💥💨
