Thanks to Hermione's research, Harry now finally knows what kind of monster is hidden in the Chamber of Secrets. When Ginny turns out to be kidnapped by the monster itself, he and Ron decide to go inform professor Lockhart about their discoveries. However, the professor prepares to flee and then tries to erase their memories, so they force him to come with them to the Chamber.
