Let's Enjoy Cave Story + Part 1: The *snort* beginnings.
It's not a dry beginning at all.
This is Cave Story +. A remake/mastery of Cave Story, some old, cult-classic game. I played about 50% of this and then quit, only to restart this.
I'm doing the robo-girl because she have dialogue and that... adds texture?
WEAPON:
Polar Star: This humble handgun isn't very special or powerful, but it's a good starter weapon. Holding infinite ammo and decent agility, one can scour the seven seas with it.
lvl 1: Pistol shot.
lvl 2: Dual wield Pistol.
lvl 3: ???
OBJECTS:
Chest: Press down... and it opens, revealing the loot within.
Door: Press down and warp through walls. It's magic!
Heart Capsule: Increases life by a certain amount. Differs between capsules. Very useful and a must to survive long enough to fool around.
Red Floppy Disk: A whatnow? Whatever this archaic device is, it allows you to save your game!
Heart Block: This device refills life and missiles. Awesome! Often coupled with Red Floppy Disks.
Break Block: Only certain weapons can break this.
ITEMS:
Heart: Recovers some health points.
Upgrade Crystal (or magic nacho): Increases a weapon's level a bit. Once the yellow bar is full it goes up a number. You lose these if you get hit, together with health. Good players will only need a few of these.
ENEMIES:
Bat: ALWAYS BATS MAN. Meh, what did you expect? It's a dark cave! Nothing but cannon fodder.
Dark Blue Heli-Blobs: These blobs of evil use their helicopter things to fly. They're relatively harmless.
Door Mimic: This enemy blocks doors with it's evil eye! Just shoot it. It's harmless, since it can't move or attack very well. Just don't bump into it!
CHARACTERS:
Curly: A robot scout. It's you, or your robot friend, depending on game mode. And yet, you need air.
King: Leader of the mostly empty Mimiga village. Tuff guy that wants to protect his village and such.
Koroko: This Mimiga is just... a mimiga who wants to protect Sue, who we haven't met yet.
Sue: Someone who knows Kazuma.
Kazuma: A man locked up in a shelter. He seems very whiny. Then again, wouldn't you be in that situation? :\
