These life restoring pools are quite fortunate. I wonder if the Azcans also make use of them? If not then they really should from now on...

A full playthrough of Dungeons and Dragons: Warriors of the Eternal Sun, filled with unedited gameplay and commentary. I'll be your guide as we walkthrough this classic RPG for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis.

This game will forever be a classic in my eyes. Sporting an outdoor tactical combat system, together with an indoors action based dungeon crawler battle system, WOTES offers an incredible mix of gameplay across a traditional fantasy adventure. Taking its lead from the Dungeons and Dragons ruleset we have your typical campaign, starting life safely behind the castle walls before venturing off on a quest into the lands of Beastmen, Lizardmen, Aztecs and Elves.

As with any good RPG we start out by creating our team. We have a variety of classes available to us and must create the most powerful, and interesting, team we can from the available options:

The Fighter, a frontline warrior who deals a lot of damage due to his ability to equip any weapon.
The Dwarf, rivalling the fighter, the dwarf has a more limited weapon pool in exchange for extra survivability.
The Cleric, your standard healer, with a surprisingly large arsenal of spells including buffs, debuffs, and even damage.
The Magic-User, long ranged damage and plenty of it. Hitting your target isn't easy in D&D but fortunately spells never miss, though they are in limited supply.
The Thief, surprisingly high damage and an abilty to disarm traps that the party encounters. Held back by low HP but the Thief can hide to counteract this.
The Elf, your all-rounder. Good with a sword, good with a bow, good with a spell. A strong class for sure but lacking some specialism and needing more EXP than the rest.
The Halfling, sucks.

Accompanied by a banging soundtrack our party of 4 adventures must quickly come to terms with a new land and secure the kingdom's future.

This game has many bugs, exploits, and cheese strats to circumvent the game's challenges. It also has stats and spells that literally don't work to add to the game's challenge. We will not be making use of any such tactics, we will face our enemies with honour and battle them fairly. If we die, then we die. No loading back, no savestates, no hope.

I have previously started an unfinished Let's Play of this game. If you are interested in watching the old LP instead you can find its remains here:

Now, let this band of incompetent fools set out on their journey. Our fate is in their hands.

On this channel I make a variety of gaming content. Sometimes we're reviewing up and coming indie games, sometimes we're revisiting retro classics for a Let's Play. The only consistent factor is that it's all gaming, and it's all accompanied by sarcastic commentary. If that's your thing then I have links:

Hopefully you'll join me for those, and I shall see you then.

I always try to be as fair and objective as possible when making my review videos, giving some honest feedback and a bit of criticsm here and there. Remember that games these days are always subject to change so many of the things mentioned here may no longer be true depending on how old this video is.

Please leave a comment if you have any questions about this video, or suggestions for future videos. I'm always open to hearing what you guys have to say.

Thanks again for watching and please, enjoy.
