Let's Play Siege of Dragonspear #82: At Long Last, the Stage is Set
This video was originally the final part of a much longer video which has been split in three for ease of viewing.
The day is saved. Belhifet has been slain for the second and final time, the portal to Arevnus is closed and the crusader is over. Caelar has elected to stay behind as penance for her deeds and the Sword Coast is once again safe. Once again we have lived up to the title of hero, but we will know no rest.
There is a loose end left to be tied up, a most horrible one. Tarry Koal-Mann is about to discover just how little power he has and how quickly those he once thought of as friends can be poisoned against him. He will run to supposed safety only to fall into the waiting clutches of the one who has been watching, waiting... manipulating events to be how he wishes them to be.
The siege may be over, but soon we will be snatched into the shadows... the Shadows of Amn.
So, after many years of not playing the game, what do I think of this in-between adventure in the Bhaalspawn Saga? Honestly, I quite liked it. The main story wasn't the strongest, but there were a lot of side adventures that were fun to do and the party members. Oh, the party members. I'm very sad that Glint and M'kiin weren't added into the BG2 enhanced edition as I'd love to see much more of them. A lot was done with the new cast members despite the story being so brief and in general there's a lot to like. Some of the tie-ins were a little silly while others were very clever and the final boss was a joy to face off against. It wasn't as good as BG2 but that was to be expected and, going in with that knowledge, I was pleasantly surprised with what it did achieve.
I'd recommend it to people looking to finish off the saga or as part of a complete playthrough from BG1, but it's also find to play by itself like I did.
So, what's next? I think it's time to play some a lot shorter and a lot more wholesome. As luck would have it, an utterly charming came out just this month and I think I'll be divine headlong into it, so join me as we visit a valley like no other and save it from its worst nightmare: rules.
See you next let's play!
