Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was published by Lucasarts and developed by BioWare, released in November of 2003 on the Microsoft XBox, then later ported to the PC. KOTOR is the first of 2 games in the series, and follows the story of an unsuspecting spacer in a time long before the Star Wars Cinematic ennealogy, who must join forces with a Jedi Knight of the Republic, Bastila Shan, as she battles against the Sith under Darth Malak, apprentice to the recently slain Darth Revan. The game runs on the Aurora Engine, developed originally for Neverwinter Nights by BioWare, and was a record-breaking fast seller on the early XBox.
