With Rei now holding all her separated parts and the last of the subquests done for now, Mako and his group head through the Forgotten Wood and decide to deal with the security of the SBC Flugel (sorry i know i'm not spelling it proper but I cant remember how to change the U in it on PC!). After arriving, the group trigger a impossible boss fight with the Gatekeeper. After a harsh fight, Kirito and Kureha tell Mako and Rei to retreat while holding off the massive mech.

Despite a successful retreat, Rei feels she failed her master/friend Mako and leaves. Following a til from another Type-X owner, Zeliska, we learn that in order to pass this fight, Mako and Rei MUST do it alone. After a few ballsy moves, Mako and Rei take down the mech and learn if they led a Squadron, Kirito and the others will be able to explore the Flugel. But lets just say friends are not exactly keen of being led by a newbie turn top dog. So what better way to resolve it? A battle Royale!!!
