The long awaited Ability Guide, just some quick opinions on what I think abilities are good for and such.
Ice: Kind of a Defensive Ability, Nice against enemies, can sort of be used against bosses, but I don't suggest it.
Hammer! Not really a long range ability, really nice against enemies that are close up, but other then that...not at all.
Fighter! This thing is great for everything! Lots of varieties in moves and in power, while it's mostly orientated towards enemies it can be used with great effect to bosses! Easily one of my favorites.
Wing! Another favorite! This one is easily the most mobile, the little feather throw is fairly useless, but the rushing attacks are nice, and the wings also can cut things. Now this ability kind of sucks against Bosses, and it's alright against enemies. But really, you move so fast with them.
Ninja!...To be honest I don't like this one, the Knife throw is nice since you can spam it, the sword is decent and the flower shower is cool...but overall...can't say I like this ability, it's average against enemies, but really...can't say I like it...
Water! This one is Horizontally Mobile, the Surf and Geyser are the best attacks, everything else is kind of worthless. Once again, Person Orientated for the most part.
Hi Jump! This one is Vertically Mobile! It does 2 things...It rushes you up...and down...both can be charged to be more powerful. This really isn't the greatest for enemies unless they are vertical. You might be able to use it on bosses...within theory, it does kind of work to be honest but be careful as you come down.
Tornado! Basically you lose control and rush around, you also can fire whirlwinds up and down...but that's it, I personally don't like it at all.
Bombs! To be honest Bombs kind of disappoint me in this game, you can throw them...aim them...roll them...set them down...within theory it could be good against bosses, but I personally didn't like it.
Spear! Spear is the Melee Version of anti Bosses as it has decent range, the helicopter, the throwing of the spears, overall pretty good since it has decent range and nice power. Anne has shown it's potential to say the least.
Shock, hands down favorite ability. This ability is awesome against quite literally everything. Charge it up and you gain a protective shield, then fire it off and it will be super effective against everything! Hands down favorite ability!
Beam! Beam is decent, kind of slow to lose but the attacks are pretty good coverage wise and nice against almost all enemies! Pretty decent against Bosses as well. I like it.
Whip...er...whip...nice with puzzles....okay against enemies...against bosses....virtually....useless....I don't like the ability. It's interesting to use but overall I give it a low rating.
Parasol...this one is also a Mobile one. You can float around, the Umbrella will block things from above. Decent attacks and downward rush. But overall I can't rate it very well.
Stone! This one can Smash the ground...slide and smash the ground...and do an upper cut. Now while many may argue that this is REALLY good for Enemies/Bosses, since you do become semi invincible, but really...not really...Mostly for Puzzles.
Next up is Sword! This is kind of the middle ground between Spear and Hammer, pretty good against enemies, and decent against bosses. Is also pretty versatile. So I highly support!
Fire...it's like Ice...except...it's Fire...really, think of it as the exact same. Since all the moves are practically the same.
Spikes! Spike is on it's own little wavelength from Spear/Sword/Hammer. I like it. The Upward Drill and the Spikes that can shoot everywhere is REALLY nice. If you find the right spot you can just unload those on bosses. So kind of a nice all rounder.
Next is Leaf. This one is easily the cheapest considering it's main move is a surrounding leaf attack. It could be seen as good against bosses, but overall I don't like losing it. But hey it's also got a nice downward leaf attack.
Cutter! The ability to throw Boomerangs! And Bigger Boomerangs! And a Dash Downwards and to the Side. IF you also get close to people you can do an incredibly combo. Kind of an all rounder since the Boomerangs can easily be thrown at bosses with it's range.
Now for the side Characters! Waddle Dee is basically an improved and more powerful Spear. Metaknight is an incredibly awesome combination between Sword and Wing, man I wish I could of used this...And then King Dedede is an improved Hammer! However something to note is that you can infinitely throw the hammer, which makes a big difference since now you have an incredibly powerful ranged attack infinitely at your disposal.
Other then that, I hope you all found this useful!
