177What is the state of LittleBigPlanet 3 in 2023?
In recent years Sumo Digital took over the LittleBigPlanet franchise developing games such as LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sackboy: A Big Adventure in 2020.
LittleBigPlanet 3 is currently the only way to experience the LittleBigPlanet franchise's 10 million plus community levels - but Sumo Digitals entry launched with bugs and a broken online component and things haven't improved much since it launched in November 2014.
PlayStation First Party Developer Media Molecule waved goodbye to the franchise after LittleBigPlanet 2 to focus on Dreams PS4. Recently Media Molecule announced an end to Dreams PS4 support and development calling its future into question. As the Dreams PS4 gears up to go it alone it's hard not to compare the two platforms - does Dreams PS4 have enough in it to last as long as LittleBigPlanet.
In 2021 the servers for LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet 3 (PS3) and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita were shut down permanently leaving only the PS4 and PS5 versions of LittleBigPlanet 3 alive.
