Seit August ist Ark Survival of the Fittest nicht mehr als Free to Play für jeden herunterladbar, sondern man bekommt SOTF in kombination mit Ark Survival Evolved.
Zwischen März und August war Ark Survival of the Fittest als Standalone auf Steam als Free to Play erhältlich.

Studio Wildcard bringt Survival of the Fittest als erstes M.O.S.A. - a Multiplayer Online Survival Arena.
Man kann in 3 unterschiedlichen Spielmodi spielen (1 Spieler Tribe, 2 Spieler, 4 Spieler).
Je nach Spielmodus entscheidet sich wie viele Gegner man hat und wie lange das Match läuft.
Viele Events laufen während so einer Runde und machen einem das Überleben schwerer.
