I was approached by the folks over at Pixel Mixers to make a cover for their pre-OoT Zelda games album, and I thought it'd be a good opportunity to remake this cover, and also because this has always been one of my favourite zelda tunes! I had a super short version of this track in my SNES medley, and as I've said before I'd like to make more full versions of previous songs in medleys. It was really fun to revisit this one and add more to the arrangement and add djenty stuff etc. Listening back to the original song again I couldn't help but notice the similarities to the Forest Temple theme from Ocarina of Time so I thought I'd throw that in the arrangement too! For that section I tried messing around with some fun/dark/colourful lighting just because I thought it'd like kinda cool
Even though I'm spending such little time making these covers as of right now because of the original album, I'm still trying to make improvements to my mixes for each video that comes out. This time I made a completely new bass tone, which is something that I've been struggling a loooot with. But I think it sounded really cool in this one! To me, this cover is a pretty massive step up from the SNES medley's mix! thanks brandon
Got two more covers left in Year 3, and then original album time!! Next cover is from a game with a beautiful soundtrack that I haven't covered yet! Looking forward to seeing you there :)
