A total overhaul compared to the 2007 demo, ditching the health bars and sticking closer to the original arcade game's formula, with tighter controls and new gimmickry like boss fights and branching paths. While the boss fight is a bit fiddly, it's a shockingly good showing and perhaps the best attempt at distilling the Mario Bros. formula I've seen -- it's just a pity we never saw more of this game, but what we've got is a tasty little treat.
