CrimsonRayne takes a look at Mark of the Ninja, the latest game from Klei Entertainment, who brought you Shank and Shank 2. This is a stealth based action 2D platformer, with tight controls and a great animated style similar to that of Shank 1 and 2 (since it is by the same creators).
Mark of the Ninja focuses as you would expect of stealth games heavily on not being seen, this is particularly true of well lit areas - where you can throws knives to take out lights (although you might attract the attention of guards) and of course, you can also hide in doorways, statues and more. There is also excellent use of grappling hooks, wall climbing and various other skills that you'd expect. If you take out an enemy with stealth you can expect a small death cut scene and an instant kill.
It's worth noting that similar to most stealth games you can of course hide the bodies by dumping them wells, vents and other useful areas.
There is also a story (fully narrated) including cut-scenes in the similarly drawn style that was also seen in Shank 2 - Mark of the Ninja is smartly done and I very much enjoyed my time with it.
