Author J. P. Edgar plays games he has never played before. This time, it's "Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE" on the Switch, where we get threatened to be boom-killed, speak with a purple "ghost," have difficulty discerning the differences between "mean" and "troublesome," and begin a new journey with a new game.

We wake up in the lost-and-found store room with amnesia. After searching our pockets, we find a letter stating we're a Master Detective, have an invitation to an autonomous zone of Kanai Ward, and a ticket on the autonomous train Amaterasu Express. After boarding, we find five other Master Detectives, perform introductions, then learn that there were only supposed to be five TOTAL detectives on the train. With us on the train, that makes six.

Master Detectives have powers (aka. forte), and people start using their abilities to prove their identity. Oh, and there are special badges to show people to confirm their identity/status.

* Zange is a camera, transmitting his memories to electrical devices.
* Aphex is an angry dude who wants to punch people in the face, but he is also a radar (of up to 50m)
* Zilch is a druid who can speak w/ animals
* Melami is a fashion aficionado who can channel dead spirits, but only if she wears their clothes
* Pucci is a hyper-hearer, which "leads to a sensation of [her] physical boundaries within reality dissolving away."
