Mugen Souls Review
39Today we are looking at Mugen Souls, NIS America's latest game for the PlayStation 3! It's a grand RPG adventure with an interesting story, intriguing battle system, and awesome music.
You will be playing as Chou Chou, a girl who one day proclaims herself as the undisputed god of the universe and announces that her goal is to take over the seven worlds. Chou Chou posses the power to turn people and monsters into her peons, so she plans on going to every world and making the strongest characters in each bow down to her.
The games features numerous worlds and areas for you to explore, each of which contains many things for the player to do. Each map has many enemies roaming around it and if Chou Chou runs into any of them, a battle will begin. In the main battle system, you will be fighting enemies in an open area which you can move around a bit in during each turn. If an enemy is within your range you can attack them and if certain conditions are met you can perform a link move with your other party members.
The most interesting part of battle is the Moe System. You will need to use Chou Chou's looks and attitude to turn the enemy into your peon. Every enemy has an affinity and mood, and Chou Chou has the ability to change into different forms which represent different affinities. What you want to do is change into the affinity that matches your opponent's, and then select the options that reflect their mood. If done correctly, you can turn the enemies into your peons, which removes them from the battle and can result in receiving extra money or rare items. Although if done incorrectly, the enemy will become angered and will return to full health and become even stronger than they were before.
