Mushroom Jump Glitch in multiple Mario games - A Wild Glitch Appears! #mario
826There's a fun and almost useful glitch in Super Mario Bros for the NES that allows Mario and/or Luigi to jump in mid-air. This glitch can be executed in the NES version of Super Mario Bros as well as the Super Mario All-Stars version. Not only that, but it works in the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 AND in the Lost Levels of Mario All Stars!
The trick unfortunately only works in specific scenarios where Mario (or Luigi) collects a powerup in mid-air. When collecting a mushroom or fire flower (not a star) in mid-air, pressing the A button just as your character's transformation ends will often result in your character jumping, even if they're not standing on solid ground.
This trick is actually somewhat useful near the beginning of level 3-1 in Super Mario Bros 2 (aka the Lost Levels).
