Now there's a new Rust in MWIII (2022)! Is it a true successor to the classic map, or just a shadow of its former glory? Let's break it down for you!
What's the Same?
Familiar Layout: The heart of the map with its B objective is almost the same! It'll feel like coming home to veteran players.
Pure Intensity: Get ready for those same white-knuckle close-quarters battles thanks to the tight spaces and vertical design.
Grim Atmosphere: It's still an industrial wasteland โ a fight for survival on a forgotten platform.
What's Different?
Bigger Battlefield: The new Rust is a smaller section of the larger Taraq map. This means more flanking routes and a less claustrophobic feel.
Modern Look: The graphics are much sharper and more realistic thanks to the new 2022 engine.
Different Gameplay: Because it's part of a larger map, the way you play is different. Sniping might not be as dominant, and flanking is even more important.
No Solo Mode: This is a Ground War map only, so forget those nostalgic 6v6 battles.
The Verdict?
The fast-paced action and intensity of the original Rust are still there in the core gameplay. But it's not a simple remake. The bigger size and connection to the larger Taraq map change things up.
